Premier Installation on a Premier Tech Aqua Septic Tank.
Looking at every aspect of a job and installation is vital, when carrying out a site design it isn’t as simple as picking a tank with suitable occupancy and popping it in the ground. Many calculations and site specific details need to fully be taken into consideration.
For one of our more recent projects we were working for a local Kennels and Cattery which was having umpteen amounts of issues with their old septic tank. For this customer in particular he had a number of companies come out to provide costs to install a replacement tank/ system.
The scope of works was to provide a suitable wastewater tank suitable for 8 members of staff using the facilities throughout the day plus commercial washing machines (estimated daily flow at 200 litres p/cycle on the average of 8 cycles a day) and the use of a mop and bucket to wash down the kennel’s/ cattery’s tiled floor.
With this in mind a sewage treatment plant was completely ruled out of the equation, the level of cleaning products and water that would be coming into the tank would have drastically limited the biological process and had a risk of overloading the plant.
The Premier Tech Aqua Mill5 Septic tank.
We therefore recommended that a Premier Tech Aqua Mill5 Septic tank was installed to handle the daily flow of approximately 2,520 litres, we were also installing an outlet filter to protect the downstream drainage field.
Our initial quotation included investigation works on the location of the existing pipework and the suitability to rework the inlet, the installation of the Septic tank, all associated drainage, construction and installation of a suitable drainage field and decommissioning the old septic tank.
As the customer had their own facilities to do some of the work themselves, our quotation was then amended a few weeks later after discussions between our contracts manager and men. A number of elements were then removed such as the drainage field and exploratory works, these were carried out by site under our guidance. However we were still appointed the job of installing the new Septic tank and connecting drainage.
As the weather started to turn we were starting to experience more issues with ground water in our excavations and the conditions meant that things were becoming more complicated – this is where our experienced team of installation engineers came up tops, knowing how to handle each element quickly and efficiently meaning the job still ran to schedule.
