Shine bright like a Diamond – The WPL DMS Sewage treatment plant.
Conforming to the 2020 General binding rules should now be at the forefront of property owners’ minds, the buzzer has now rung and time has ran out. Since 2015 the legislation has been laid out with specifications and requirements for compliance but yet even today unless you have your septic tank regularly emptied by an approved contractor or have experience with other systems you may not even think to check if anything has changed in regards to the legal requirements for your tank.
For one property in particular we identified a few issues that would mean the existing tank was non-operational and needed upgrading. The existing septic tank had two main problems:
- It was discharging directly to a watercourse.
- All of the existing surface water was connected to the tank.
The WPL DMS Sewage treatment plant.
To rectify the situation we recommended that all the foul and grey water leaving the property was identified with the foul drainage being served by a WPL DMS package sewage treatment plant and effluent pump station and the surface water redirect and connected after the new treatment plant installation.
The WPL Diamond sewage treatment plant has a number of promoting features which proved advantageous for this installation. Alongside being tested to BS EN12566-3 and meeting a minimum standard of 20:30:20 (BOD:SS:Ammonia) the WPL Domestic sewage treatment plant has a low profile lid which is certainly discreet in comparison to some of its competitors.
The WPL DMS is another system that operates by way of aeration meaning that there are no mechanical parts actually present within the tank itself, the blower unit is located externally from the tank and is the method of treatment, this often proves advantageous for systems which need a pumped outlet as should the pump fail there are no internal elements to be flooded.
To ensure optimum efficiency these systems need to be routinely serviced and emptied as per the manufacturers recommendations, for more information on either the installation or servicing of these systems please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
