Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Health and Safety Officer to support our health and safety initiatives by managing the documentation and administration critical to the effective implementation of health and safety protocols. The Health and Safety Officer will support the Health and Safety manager to ensure that health and safety records are accurately maintained, organised, and updated regularly to meet compliance and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, incident reports, training records, and safety audits.
- Monitor expiration dates on safety-related certifications, permits, and equipment inspections, coordinating timely renewals as needed.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and inspections, working closely with the Health and Safety Manager to address any documentation gaps or updates required.
- Serve as a first point of contact for inquiries related to health and safety documentation.
- Assist in distributing health and safety communications, training materials, and updates to relevant teams as directed by the Health and Safety Manager.
- Support the Health and Safety Manager in implementing and monitoring corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support the QHSE team with quality management documentation to assist with our accreditations and audits.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a health and safety or regulatory compliance capacity.
- Familiarity with document management systems and software is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
- Full UK Driving Licence
