The Diversity of the BioDisc
The Klargester BioDisc is an industry leader for operational efficiency, value for money, usability and sustainability. This allows the domestic BioDisc to be utilised in a number of situations, it could be that the system needs to be suitable for a singular dwelling or multiple properties (providing the system is adequately sized to suit the application).
The BioDisc has a variety of sizes ranging from the Klargester BA BioDisc which is designed to serve up to 8 population all the way through to the BN BioDisc which handles a maximum daily flow of 60m3, the units offer an unrivalled quality and can be adjusted to suit.

Whilst building our proposal to cover the installation of a suitable package sewage treatment plant for a site in Lancaster we had to build our quotation on the basis of the system being required to suit three properties. The sizing of the Klargester tanks we were proposing was based on the British water flows and loads calculations where we determined a 13.5 population needed to be met.
This left us proposing to install either a Klargester BioAir 5 Premium or a Klargester BB BioDisc package sewage treatment plants. Both of these systems were appropriately sized to handle the amount of daily flow.
Whilst the BioDisc is undeniably the more expensive system to purchase than the BioAir, there are a number of perks to having the BioDisc installed over the aeration unit. As the new system was to be a shared unit, discussions were to be had with all the neighbours involved to agree which system was the best to suit their requirements.

For these properties in the South Lakes we unfortunately hit the wrong time of year and with excessive rainfall occurring over a matter of weeks we needed to not only use ground stabilisation/ shoring equipment but also a submersible pump to keep the water levels lowered, keeping water out of the excavation during the installation is sometimes no easy task but not to be deterred our team worked quickly and efficiently to ensure the system was installed correctly.
One of the main reasons we specify a dry mix for our concrete surrounds is to account for an excess water in the excavation, finding the correct level of ballast and moisture in the aggregates ensures that the system is sited in the ground.
