Not all off-mains commercial projects require a large sewage treatment plant to be installed, some instances require a smaller system to be installed. This was certainly the case for one of our recent installations in North Yorkshire.

Providing the waste from the site is still classed as domestic in nature the smaller domestic sewage treatment plants can still be utilised on these sites. We were asked to provide a quotation to install a new sewage treatment plant to serve a new facility designed to handle 20 staff.

Basing off the space on site, the expected daily flow and staffing levels we were able to build a proposal for a working wastewater setup to suit site.

The sewage treatment plant we would propose to install to suit the application is a Clenviro CLF1a IPS Matrix package sewage treatment plant, this was to be installed directly behind the cabin with new pipework being installed to collect the wastewater from the new location.

The outfall from the newly installed sewage treatment plant was to pump the effluent via a new black MDPE pipework to the existing storm drain. The only complication for this one was that the route for this new outfall was between two cabins.

This required some skilled and careful excavation to carefully trench the new rising main to the new outfall sample point. Due to this manhole being located in a trafficked area we installed this complete with a B125 heavy duty cover and frame.
