Envirosafe Environmental Compliance

No matter how well maintained your sewage treatment plant is, all structural and mechanical components have a shelf life, a routine servicing and maintenance plan can ensure that you get the best out of your system and reduce unnecessary wear and tear however, it is likely that in the course of your sewage treatment plant’s lifetime you will need to replace some of the consumable parts.

This applies for systems of both domestic and commercial, however it is no surprise that larger domestic units/ commercial systems come under more strain. This is often due to FOG and Sanitary entering the system this can speed up the requirement for the parts to need changing.

Envirosafe Sewage treatment plant

For one site in Peterborough, they have an aged Sewage treatment plant installed on site, this unit has been in situ for a number of years. During one of these mechanical and electrical servicing visits it was highlighted by our service engineer that the diffuser pipework within the system had become corroded to the point where it was affecting the efficiency of the system.

Diffuser pipework in these units is essential for the treatment process and are a vital component for sufficient aeration to take place. Therefore, when these are no longer functioning as required it is important for these to be changed.

Sewage treatment plant remedials

Once it was determined that some remedial work was required, we ordered all of the necessary parts to facilitate the work being booked in, this required all the diffuser pipework and manifolds to be replaced. Once the engineer arrived on site all the old pipework was removed with the new installed in its place.

Whilst on site one of the residents mentioned they were experiencing issues with the blower on site being extremely noisy, so our engineer relocated the air intake to minimise disruption. The site was then left with the system operational, and all electrical and mechanical components checked.

It is important to make sure your system is operating as designed as this is a requirement for environmental compliance.
